A longtime educator with experience teaching both children and adults, I am committed to engaging my students by making content relevant and relatable. My Teachers College graduate students got important real-world experience when they designed and presented community-based nutrition education programs during Strategies for Nutrition Education and Behavior Change. To provide them a successful, supported experience, I coached them by modeling, and providing guided practice and individual feedback. I also built and maintained relationships with community organizations.
As a mentor, I have worked with a number of graduate and undergraduate students. During the past two years, I trained three dietetic interns, one undergraduate, and six master’s students in applied research. Several of these students have published papers and presented at national conferences.
